From today onwards, Samsung will be rolling a major update for its older smartwatches including Galaxy Watch, Gear Sport, and Gear S3 smartwatches. Following the update, the smartwatches will get Samsung’s new One UI interface, the interface which was first launched by the company on the Galaxy smartphones.
There have been reports that following the update, One UI will introduce a modern interface to the older smartwatches. Samsung earlier failed to bring the modern interface on its devices for a while, but now with the new update in hand, all the older version of the smartwatches will be updated with a positive approach.
On watches, the updates are identical, but it also introduces new features. “One UI on the smartwatch delivers a stylized interface that is synchronized with One UI on Galaxy smartphones, featuring more harmonious colors and layouts across devices,” Samsung said in a press release, according to our news sources..
Talking about the other changes that the One UI update on the older smartwatches will bring are improved settings. Besides this, improved control over Daily Briefing updates, ability to turn Goodnight mode on or off according to sleeping habits and ability to enable/disable Touch wake-up will be introduced by the new updates.
Also, the One UI update that Samsung will release today will also improve the battery life of the Galaxy Watch, Gear Sport, and Gear S3 smartwatches. Also, improved battery optimization will be included in the update, and this will result in enhanced performance of the battery along with more prolonged use of the device.
“Users can also customize preferred battery saving settings, including adjusting brightness and screen timeout settings, to achieve the best possible battery life without compromising on the user experience,” Samsung said.
Sources revealed that the new update would be available via the Galaxy Wearable app.
